What modern “standard” would you like me to use? I despise Flash and use ClickToFlash to disable it. You want to talk about bloated, lets talk about Flash. I'm a Mac user, and more of my traffic comes from Mac users than Windows users. Quicktime under Snow Leopard has GPU accelerated playback, so I'd say it's pretty modern and rather fast. I'm open to your suggestion(s) though, as long as it isn't flash.

quicktime embedded video? how about using something a bit more modern that doesn't require a bloated download to work? weak.

Hey Mike, I just wanted to let you know that I'm taking a science and technology class here at Penn State that deals with how society and technology relate and influence one another. I saw this on the Facebook feed and thought I'd check out your blog. Interesting stuff you have here.
You would love this class. The only homework is reading about new technological advances in society and then blogging your thoughts. Its more artificial intelligence based rather than computer based technology but this just made me think of the class…
